A Noble Soul Mother Teresa
Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, is mainly known as Mother Teresa was born in Albania. She devoted her life for the betterment of the needy people. She never missed any opportunity to claim herself as a true Indian and is known worldwide for her undivided love for children and poor. Mother Teresa was the founder of the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta (also known as Kolkata now). The foundation is active in more than 133 countries and at present consists of more than 4,500 sisters.
Since its formation, this organization has been working on many social problems, which includes providing free medical treatment and organizing camps for poor people. Missionaries of Charity were supporting more than 610 missions.
Contribution to Humanity
Her missionary funds for educating and protecting the poor children have given shelter to many orphan kids and old people. Apart from that her contribution to fight back the evil of HIV, leprosy and other types of ailment cannot be ignored. It was in the year 2003 Mother was beatified and was moved to the 3rd step of Sainthood.
